My name is Chato Garcia. Among my 6 brothers and 6 sixters, our family has been in the restaurant business for a long time. I started my first restaurant, El Charro, back on July 3, 1981, in Seattle, Washington. Our other family TEQUILA'S restaurants are located throughout Colorado in Grand Junction, Trinidad, Durango and Steamboat Springs. Each restaurant offers traditional Mexican food using old family recipes.
My sister, Isabel and I were on our way to Pueblo, CO, when we drove into Pagosa Springs and were amazed by its beauty and friendly people. We decided that this was the place to settle and start a new life, opening our present TEQUILA'S restaurant in July 2002. Since then we have met many,. many wonderful people who have become our customers, friends and neighbors. We opened CHATO'S, west of Pagosa, in 2006.
